This is a hand-woven rug from the town of Bidjar, located in Kurdistan Province, Iran. The Kurds, who make up the majority of the town's population, are said to have inherited the traditional Bidjar rug weaving technique from around the 16th century.


The greatest feature of Bidjar rugs, nicknamed "iron rugs," is their durability.

In addition to their intricate and beautiful unique designs, the high-density finish achieved by firmly compressing the weft threads between the rows of knots is unique to Bidjar rugs.

Rugs with high weaving density are appealing for their more delicate patterns, suppleness, and strength that resists wear and can be used for many years.



They are made from high-quality wool sourced from local sheep, dyed with natural dyes. They are breathable and do not retain moisture, making them comfortable all year round. The soft pile gently supports your feet, enhancing your living space by keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter.
