This is a handwoven rug from Nain, Persia. It is a very soft rug woven from "cork wool," which is precious wool shorn from lambs less than one year old.

By changing the viewing angle, lighting conditions, or the direction in which it is laid, you can enjoy various textures, from a bright and cheerful atmosphere to a deep and subdued one.
