This is a hand-woven rug from Isfahan, known as a famous production area for Persian rugs. The size is 170×113cm. With a rich navy base, a striking geometric medallion is placed in the center, surrounded by delicate Persian patterns reminiscent of flowers and vines.
Intricate floral patterns and curvilinear arabesque motifs are meticulously woven throughout, revealing the beauty of fine details the closer you look. The borders surrounding all four sides also feature continuous geometric and botanical patterns, enhancing the central design.
The materials used are cork wool and silk. Cork wool is one of the high-quality sheep wools used in Persian rugs, finer and smoother to the touch than common wool, with a natural luster. The combination with silk allows for beautiful expression of intricate patterns and creates a delicate texture that changes expression depending on the angle of light.
Isfahan is a region known for its particularly intricate floral patterns and well-balanced compositions in Persian rugs. The rug culture of Isfahan flourished significantly during the Safavid dynasty, intertwining with court art to develop beautiful designs that continue to be inherited today, including botanical motifs, medallions, and delicate geometric patterns.
This item is also a piece that allows you to enjoy traditional Persian rug designs and the unique texture of cork wool and silk. Its user-friendly size of 170×113cm is also a feature, making it recommended for those looking for Isfahan rugs or hand-woven rugs.
