While carpet production in Qum only truly began in the early 20th century, making it a relatively new region in the history of Persian carpets, it quickly established itself as a producer of the highest quality in that short period. The reason is clear: Qum workshops have specialized in using the finest silk threads and in the technical skill of meticulously weaving intricate patterns with extremely high density (knot count).

Silk carpets possess a unique luster and delicate coloring that wool carpets do not. Their appearance changes depending on the viewing angle, and the patterns seem to glow as they catch the light – this is the beauty unique to silk carpets.

Shirazi Workshop: A Guarantee of Quality

This piece was woven by the Shirazi workshop, renowned as one of the most prestigious workshops in Qum.
