This is a traditional Rizbaft Gabbeh, woven by the Kashkuli tribe in southern Iran. Among Gabbehs, Rizbaft is particularly finely knotted and densely woven, combining delicate pattern expression with excellent durability.
This piece features a design based on the "Tree of Life" and bird motifs that have been handed down since ancient times. The tree, extending its branches and blooming, symbolizes the continuity and prosperity of life, while the birds perched upon it are considered signs of happiness and good fortune. Such motifs have been woven into the rugs by nomads, incorporating their prayers and wishes for nature in their daily lives.
The color scheme is based on a calm blue, with red and yellow flowers subtly arranged, creating a rustic yet profound impression. The soft colors, characteristic of natural dyes, blend naturally into any space.
The thick wool has a firm feel underfoot, making it suitable for everyday use. Its convenient size makes it suitable for entryways, bedside areas, or under chairs, and it can be incorporated into both Japanese and Western-style interiors.
