This rug was hand-woven over a long period of time by the Turkmen people living in northern Afghanistan. The patterns, passed down through generations of nomadic life, breathe with life and serve as a "guardian of the home" passed down by local families.

The center features a repeating motif characteristic of Turkmen rugs, conveying power and rhythm. Small geometric patterns are intricately woven in, and the closer you look, the more you feel the warmth of the handiwork. The thick border surrounding it features curved, plant-like patterns that gently bring together the overall impression.
