This is a Mashwani Kilim from Herat, Afghanistan. It is hand-woven by the Mashwani tribe. Their specialty, the sumac weaving technique, requires complex weaving skills, making it difficult and rare, and not widely available in Japan.
It is a textured rug that combines a kilim with a hemp-like feel and no pile, and a pile carpet section. Its geometric design is beautiful, and it feels very comfortable underfoot.

Despite its deep colors, it doesn't give a dark impression. It pairs well with flooring, and can easily match any flooring color.
