This is a hand-woven Persian rug from Nain, one of Iran's leading rug-producing regions. The size is approximately 293x209cm. Featuring a sophisticated navy base, delicate floral patterns in beige and ivory tones are intricately depicted, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful texture of the weave that spreads from the center outwards.
Particularly eye-catching is the Shah Abbasi pattern that adorns the entire rug. This traditional design, with its floral and leaf motifs, is one of the most representative designs that has been passed down in Persian rugs for a long time. The regular arrangement of fine floral patterns creates an impression that is both opulent and calm.
Nain rugs are Persian rugs that developed in Nain, a city in central Iran. The rug industry in Nain began to develop in earnest around the early 20th century, becoming globally renowned for its fine weave and elegant designs. The refined color palette, primarily white and beige, and the intricate floral patterns are particularly characteristic features of Nain rugs.
This particular rug is finished with high-quality cork wool, along with wool and silk, in a fine 4LA class weave. Its charm lies in its soft touch and delicate pattern expression, with the high-density weave beautifully defining the contours of the patterns.
While the rug is sufficiently beautiful in photographs, viewing it in person allows you to appreciate the intricate knots, the texture of the pile, and the changing color expressions depending on how the light hits it. The detail of the weave, in particular, is difficult to convey through photographs.
