About Gabbeh and the Amaleh Tribe
Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in the nomadic and pastoral cultures that have lived around the Zagros Mountains in southwestern Iran. Specifically, in the Fars province, they have been woven since ancient times by tribes such as the Qashqai and Luri. Records of rugs corresponding to "Gabbeh" can be found in documents dating back to the Safavid dynasty in the mid-16th century.
Gabbeh rugs, with each pattern holding a special meaning, are also popular as gifts.
Because they are plush and soft, we recommend using them as floor cushions, chair mats, or as decorative accents for car seats.
