This antique kilim was handwoven in the 1960s-1970s in the town of Sane (Sanandaj) in the Kurdistan region of Persia by the Kurdish people, the world's largest stateless people.

Kilims are flat-woven carpets that are mainly produced in Türkiye, Iran, and Afghanistan. They are thin, have no pile, are highly breathable, and feel smooth to the touch.

Sanandaj is finely woven and is not thick compared to other kilims, so it can be used as an accent piece in a room by draping it over furniture such as sofas.

The paintings are characterized by their unique patterns that look like inverted paint, and are said to feature flowers, birds, fish, etc., but the complex patterns are difficult to discern clearly. When viewed from a distance, they appear soft and gentle.

It can be easily attached with thumb tacks, so it can be used as a rug or hung on the wall as a decoration.
It can be folded up small and is lightweight, so it is recommended as a stylish item to lift your spirits when using it for outdoor activities such as glamping and picnics.

This is a vintage item that was woven over 40 years ago, but as it is unused, it is in excellent condition with little damage such as scratches.
